Machine translation
With 21 languages in the EU multilinguality has become a highly relevant topic. It is also an interesting subject for Denmark as tools handling multilinguality will support the Danish language in establishing a decent position.
CST has worked with machine translation for years - with rule based as well as statistical systems.
Recent research within machine translation involves combinations of rule based linguistic knowledge, lexicons and grammars with the statistical knowledge which can be extracted from large text collections.
